The Cape James (FP-47) was launched in 1944 at Martinolich Shipyard in San Fransisco. She was a wooded ship, 125 feet long. Originally built for Alaskan freight and passenger service, she was enlisted with the US Army. She quickly moved to Sydney, Australia, and retrofitted into a Morse Code transmitting ship. Having some light armaments, she shot down tow Japanese aircraft. The official radio code for FP-46 was "Bedpan". She was wrecked in December 2015, after years of commercial maritime.
